In Nov 2011 I had pit surgery and the lesion was found to be a Rathke’s Cleft Cyst, 5mm by 4mm by 6mm. It was drained. They didn’t remove the cyst wall bc of risk of further damage to the pit. There is a 15% chance the cyst will fill up again in 3 years. If that happens, they do surgery again to drain the cyst and then cut out all the cyst wall.
Prior to surgery I was sick for about 8 years wtih unexplained illnesses, fevers of unknown origin, bouts of vomiting/diarrhea, headache, vertigo, balance issues, weight loss, weight gain, edema around the eyes and face, hair loss/thinning, scleral hemorrhages, gall bladder surgery, chronic nausea, and was Dx with Rosacea, Sjogren’s, Hashi’s, diabetes 2, high blood pressure, tachycardia, sleep apnea, a few bouts of Reynaud’s, GERD, low O2 sats, air hunger, general fatigue, all over joint/body pain, panic attacks, and brain fog.
Now being treated wtih Cytomel for Hashi’s and Prednisone for Adrenal Insufficiency. Feeling much better now, tachy is gone, no more Rosacea, and I have more energy to do the things I enjoy. Still have obstructive sleep apnea but no more central sleep apnea, the diabetes is getting better–I don’t take as much medication for it as before, and the high blood pressure is getting better as well but I still take medication for it.
Have had a chronic sinus infection since the pit surgery, got a sinus CT scan and the doc told me I need sinus reconstruction surgery and am now looking for a surgeon to get that done.
